Preliminary statistics of World Intellectual Property Organization shows that the China’s PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) international application has increased by 19％ in the first half of this year while the number in US declined by 14％ as a result of economic crisis.  A new report recently published by WIPO shows that, the world PCT international application in 2008 totals to 163.6 thousands, growing by 2.3％ compared to 2007, wherein the PCT application number of Chinese enterprises and organizations is 6089, growing by 11.9％ compared to 2007, and ranking sixth after USA (53521), Japan (28774), Germany (18427), Korea (7908) and France (6867).
